I don't like the word. Something definite becomes speculative, questionable. It's the root of many needless self-imposed limitations. I've heard it too much recently:

I thought IF was a very expensive bike frame.
You mean the intentionally flashy bikes that were supposed to be different from the intentionally flashy bikes that had sold out or become passe?
